13 Visit : Panteón Familia López-Cubero Giménez-Rey
If in the whole Cemetery of Our Lady of Health we can find pantheons of Gothic Revival, Neoclassical, or others with greater or lesser degrees of eclecticism, corresponding to the time they were built, the pantheon of López-Cubero / Giménez-Rey is a clear example of contemporary architecture. Built in grey granite, it is composed of a single piece, very open to the exterior, through a large door. Unlike some pantheons of earlier times there is no clear separation between the inner and outer space, thanks partly to the absence of a separating fence. Therefore, visitors can see more easily the indoors, where they can see three stained glass representing the Virgen del Carmen and Child Jesus in the centre, and at the sides, St. Peter with the keys and San Lorenzo with a grill, you can also see an altar presided over by a cross. The exterior is dominated by the presence of two beautiful and modern angels : one holds a flower in his hand while the other is praying. A large cross over the door dominates the entrance. Despite the richness of the interior materials with which this pantheon is built, that looks like a chapel, showing the religiousness of the builders, it is simple with rectangular shapes.
